Intro to Leviticus
In the book of Exodus, God rescues Israel from Egypt (Exod 1–15), brings them to Sinai (16–18), and proposes a covenant relationship (19:1–6).
He is Risen! What Does That Mean?
The resurrection of Jesus, in some sense, is foundational to Christianity. From the beginning followers of Jesus pointed to his resurrection as the authentication of his divine authority (Romans 1:1-4). The resurrection of Jesus is viewed as essential to the gospel which believers must hold firmly (1 Cor. 15:2). Paul even argues that if Christ is not raised his preaching is useless and so is faith (1 Cor. 15:14). But what is meant by the resurrection of Jesus? How are we to understand it?
Walk Like An Egyptian: Setting Up Exodus
It is important for followers of Christ to know and understand the Israelite Exodus because it is the theological beginning of the Bible and forms the very thought world of Jesus; who was himself an Israelite—a descendant of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. So what happened? And what does this tell us about how God is working to redeem humanity today? An understanding of the events of the Israelite Exodus (as narrated in the book of Exodus) is inextricably linked to an understanding of the history and culture of Egypt.
